The Round Stack

On the top of the base build a stack of pillars, by placing 3-4 pieces of lumber side-by-side and then another piece on the opposite side. Continue to build these pillars until the stack is 12 rows high, ensuring that there are enough spaces between each pillar so that air can flow easily throughout the entire pile.

Then use a center stake to hold the stack straight and start adding perpendicular pieces to the edges of the stack, tying them together in the middle using string. Repeat this process until you have reached the ceiling height of your wall. You can then complete the interior with odd pieces and those that are too big for the outer rows. Indoor stacking requires space with a good airflow and plenty of natural light. Overcrowding can result in damp and spongy wood. The ideal indoor space for stacking is usually garages or basements.
