1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR, similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area that is up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas more effectively unlike traditional mop. In my tests it was able to clean the X2 Omni washed its pad in just over a second and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.

This robotic vacuum and mop has a large docking station that provides cool water cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L bag that's simple to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

As with other mopping robots, the Deebot T10 Omni features a wash tray in its base that rinses and dries the mop pads when it uses them. It doesn't have a tray that can be removed, which means that dirt, dust and other grime will slowly build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the robot vacuum space but this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It features upgraded intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range cleaner that's stylish even if the promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite be realized.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. On the other hand there's a motorized floorbrush as well as one side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its'mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its charging dock) and isn't always great in climbing over rug. It was effective in picking up pet hair from carpets. In our tests it picked up 89.5% kitty litter.

It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device can be controlled via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes with large spaces with a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting caught on power cables, toys, or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests, this robot performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in one go. It did have some issues with rugs however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive however it's a great purchase for those who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can get out and do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto-cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and is equipped with an electric ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn't allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known upstart brand is the cheapest model we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the price. The basic navigation system employs a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than other models on this list. However it's still able to reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode was very effective during our tests, picking up stray pet hair and other debris effortlessly.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as durable however, it's better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as bare floors. It also utilizes intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve maneuverability. It also lets you transfer it to a particular room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It lets you suspend and resume cleaning which is ideal for homes that have pets.
