The earcups are also equipped with touch controls, which are easy to use. Swipe up or down to alter the volume. You can also swipe forward to listen to the next track or backwards to hear the previous track. The headphones are capable of connecting to two devices at once and thanks to a built-in sensor, they automatically pause the playback if removed from your head. You can turn on the ambient mode by placing your palm on the right earcup. This lets you hear the sounds around you without having to remove the headphones.

They can also be paired with your voice assistant. Bluetooth low-energy is also supported, as well as high-resolution audio (via LDAC). They come with a sturdy carrying case made of high-end fabric as well as a USB-C cable to charge. The headphones are powered by Bluetooth 5.2, with aptX Adaptive. This is great for high-quality audio as well as tight video sync. You can also play them wired too, using the included 3.5mm cable that connects to an USB-C port located on the right earcup. The headphone's status indicator is a helpful gesture with a green flash to indicate a rapid charge, and solid blue when Bluetooth pairing is in use.

The B&W App offers the same features that the onboard buttons in the hardware offer including bass and treble adjustment as well as action button assignments, wear detection, cycling through ANC modes, etc. The app also shows an album cover and track's title when you play music from your iPhone. The Anker Soundcore Life Q20 are a decent pair of headphones that will do the trick for anyone who needs to pass the time or just wants an affordable pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Their ANC does a good job of blocking out chattering passengers and engine rumbles from the plane, but their audio profile is warm and bass-heavy.
