It's not a huge deal however it is worth considering when looking at your choices.

App

With a robot mop you can keep your floors in a relatively continuous state of clean and unsticky without having to scrub or vacuum as often as with mopping by hand. This is particularly helpful in areas that are heavily used, such as bathrooms, kitchens, mudrooms and entryways. However, ultimately, you will have to pull out a traditional rag or Swiffer WetJet from time to when to scrub the most difficult areas.

The iRobot App allows you to create cleaning zones and customize the map settings so that the robot can be directed where it is needed the most. You can also personalize iRobot OS using Dirt Detective. This program learns from the information about maps as well as previous cleaning tasks and inputs from users. It provides cleaning-related insights that include options to automatically prioritize dirtier rooms or alter settings for each room, such as suctioning, scrubbing and mopping.

The iRobot app is simple to use and offers a lot of control over where the robot cleans when, how often and the way it cleans. Warranty

If you're looking to purchase a robot that vacuums and mops the same time, this model from iRobot might be the best option. It's essentially a j7 that has an AllergenLock Bag that stores dirt until it's empty and an additional tank of water for mopping. It's not as expensive as the other mop-and-vacuum robots we've tested, however it's still a big investment.

It comes with an enormous self-cleaning dock which is easier to clean than others. A drawer on the base is a storage space for filters, dust bins and other items. The Combo J7+ can be set to clean specific rooms and you can tell it how much liquid you want to use in each room. It can also be programmed to do extra cleaning in areas with a lot of traffic.

The mop is raised or lowered by the same robotic arms that are used on any other Roomba. However it won't deploy if it detects it is on a rug. This prevents it from accidentally scrubbing the floor with a wet pad, and ruining your flooring. It can also be programmed to only mop certain surfaces, like sealed stone tiles, wood or laminate.

This model mop for approximately 11 minutes, after which the battery is exhausted and it goes back to its dock to recharge. It does an excellent job of removing dust and pet hair from tile, hardwood and area rug. It can also move between flooring surfaces and vacuums wall-to-wall carpeting, without losing track of the edges of a room.

In vacuum mode, Combo j7+ uses three power settings for suction and brush rollers to remove pet hair and other debris. It can be programmed to vacuum specific rooms and has a quiet drive that blocks its most powerful motors from running until it gets to the room it's cleaning. This was one of our quietest robot vacuums. However, it doesn't have a way to wash its mop pads in a timely manner as we're seeing more premium robots do lately.
