Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

This is a great choice if you are looking for a basic robotic cleaner without the advanced features of other models. It is capable of picking up pet hair, kitty litter and Cheerios on hardwood floors and even sucked up sand in my tests.

It's quick and precise in mapping rooms, and it avoids obstacles well. It can also be operated manually via the included remote.

1. Roomba iRobot s9+

The s9+ robotic vacuum is the most effective we've tested for Revolutionize Cleaning With iRobot Roomba s9+: Smart Mapping Power Self-Emptying carpets and hard floors. It has some of the strongest suction of any robotic cleaner on the market and is excellent at eliminating pet hair. It can be programmed to do multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, a feature that we haven't seen in other models. Its app lets you modify how it works and even choose when it starts working so you can be in the room while it's whirring away.

Smart mapping creates a detailed home map that can aid the S9+ to navigate efficiently and determine routes. It also self-empties so you don't have to be there to help. It can also recharge itself mid-clean. The s9+ was able to maneuver around obstacles such as tables and power cables with any difficulty. It never lost charge and didn't get stuck. It lacks the hazard-avoidance capabilities of newer models, and can become tangled on rug tassels and other obstructions it is unable to see.

Contrary to the majority of circular robots, the s9+ is flat-fronted and has an angled front that lets it to get into corners more easily than models with rounded fronts. It's also quieter than our previous iRobot robot and is smaller than the Neato Botvac D7. It scrubs the floor using an eerily-smooth motion that left my floors looking and feeling like they'd been thoroughly cleaned.

The J7+ recharges itself after it is finished cleaning. It then drives to where it left off, and continues to clean. It can run for around 85 minutes in my house and can be minus or plus a few minutes. It's not as impressive as the s9+, but nonetheless impressive for a machine which can vacuum and mop.

The j7+, as with other iRobot vacuum cleaners, is able to avoid obstacles and detects them. It also has what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from falling down the stairs. It's an excellent safety feature for families.

The j7+'s bin onboard is small, which means you'll have return it to the dock to empty it often when your home is huge. However, the j7+ is incredibly simple to store. The Clean Base, which comes with it, functions as charging dock, a separate dustbin, and an internal bin for the j7+ to deposit dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This model is stunning on bare floors but struggles on floors with low pile. It also has a difficult time to take in large amounts of debris as the dirt compartment fills. It is nevertheless well constructed and has a long battery life that you can extend by using the energy-efficient 'Eco' mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means you can control it with your voice. Its app allows you to identify your robot (mine is Sharky Shark), remotely activate and schedule its runs and view your cleaning history, as well as any errors that are notified. You can even make a map of your home and create no-go zones.

The Shark iQ costs more than the iRobot Roomba j7+ but has superior app features and mapping and superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges more quickly and is less likely to get caught on rug tassels, which reduces recurring costs. Four "cliff" sensors on the side and front alert it when it's about to approach an edge, such as stairs or a balcon, and it's also able to reverse.

This model is a great option in the robot vacuums under $300 price range. This model comes with a 3-stage cleaning system that includes a dual multi-surface brush to remove dirt from carpets and hard floors. A tool for edge-sweeping takes care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum has many features for convenience including Dirt Detect which spends more time on areas that are heavily soiled. It can also be manually triggered to clean at certain intervals, and also has an app for remote control.

The Roomba from iRobot isn't as advanced but it is not as advanced as the i7. It doesn't come with a mapping feature or the capability of creating virtual boundaries. It's more robust and has lower recurring costs than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge more quickly.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s Robot Vacuum Mops vacuum is a small but appealing machine that provides a good value for the price. It has a large dirt bin and can run for extended periods of time, and is good in cleaning pet hair. However, it's difficult to maintain and has issues with navigation. It's not equipped with an app companion to it and voice control, however it does have an easy-to-use remote. It doesn't inform you when the bin is full. You'll have to check it regularly.

The eufy is superior to the bObsweep Bob Pro in most ways however it's not as good as the iRobot Roomba S9+ Robot Vacuum: Ultimate Cleaning Companion Roomba 694 in many others. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better constructed, has less parts to maintain, a HEPA-filter and lasts longer on one charge, and provides superior cleaning performance for floors that are bare as well as high-pile and low-pile. It also comes with a smarter navigation system that is able to maneuver around obstacles and has more advanced automation features, like boundary strips.

Although the eufy is still a decent choice I would recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for the majority of users. The iRobot is more durable, easier to maintain, has a larger dustbin, and has better performance on all surfaces types. It's also quicker to recharge and provides a longer maximum battery life.

The eufy is superior to the ILIFE A4s, however it's not as good as a top-end robot such as the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is more durable and has a larger dust bin and has lower ongoing costs. It also has a more sophisticated navigation algorithm that can navigate over obstacles and has more advanced automation capabilities, such as boundary strips.
