Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were as well more refined, more precise and less akin to earlier efforts.
