Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

This is a good option if you are looking for a basic robotic cleaner without the advanced features of other models. It did a great job picking up pet hair, Cheerios and kitty litter on hardwood floors.

It's fast and precise in mapping rooms, and it does a great job of avoiding obstacles. It can also be controlled manually with the remote included.

1. Roomba from iRobot

The s9+ is the most effective robot vacuum we've tested cleaning hard floors and carpeting. It has the most powerful suction of any robotic cleaner available and is a great choice for getting rid of pet hair. It can be programmed to make multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, something that we haven't seen in other models. The app lets you customize how it works, and even select when it begins working so that you can be present in the room while it moves around.

Smart mapping generates a precise home map that can aid the S9+ to navigate efficiently and determine routes. It can also self-empty so you don't need to be around to assist. It can also recharge itself mid-clean. The s9+ was able to move around obstacles like tables and power cables with any issue. It never lost charge and didn't get stuck. However, it doesn't have the hazard avoidance capabilities of newer models and can become entangled in carpet tassels or other obstacles that are difficult to see.

In contrast to most circular robots the s9+ is flat-fronted and has an angled front that lets it get to corners faster than models with rounded fronts. It's also quieter than the previous iRobot model we test and is less bulky than the Neato Botvac D7. Its price tag isn't inexpensive, but it's still an excellent value given how well it performs and the fact that you don't need to worry about emptying the trash following the use. Additionally, it's usually on sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The J7+ is among the smartest robot cleaners available. It's equipped with iRobot Genius technology that gives it the ability to sense obstacles and move around them, which means that you don't need to worry about it hitting into walls or furniture. It also slows down when it approaches an object, so it can gently clean edges. This is particularly helpful when you have pets that leave a mess behind.

The j7+ can also mop and vacuum thanks to a mopsitter. If it detects that you're on a floor that requires mopping, it switches from the standard cleaning mode and activates an arm that is a tiny robot with a pad attached. It scrubbed the floor gently leaving my floors feeling and looking like they'd been properly cleaned.

The J7+ recharges itself after it has finished cleaning. It then drives back to the spot where it started, and continues to clean. It typically runs for about 85 minutes, give or take in my home before having to return to the dock to recharge. It's not as impressive as the s9+ but nonetheless impressive for a machine which can vacuum and mop.

Like other iRobot cleaners, the j7+ identifies obstacles in its way and avoids them. It also has what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which helps to prevent it from falling down the stairs. It's a fantastic safety feature for families.

The j7+'s onboard bin is relatively small, so you'll need to return it to the dock to empty it regularly if your home is large. The j7+ can be stored easily. The Clean Base comes with an external charging dock as well as an external dustbin and an internal bin in which the j7+ can store dirt.

3. Shark iQ

This 2-in-1 robot vacuums carpets and hard surfaces simultaneously. It also comes with Matrix Clean Navigation, which utilizes a grid of a matrix to offer a complete home cleaning coverage. The vacuum automatically emptys itself after every run. You can also see the status of the battery and the actual life of the vacuum by looking at two light bulbs on top. Press the button to unlock the bin and empty it. It holds up to a week's worth garbage, and the process is easy enough to do from any place in the house.

Despite its impressive performance on bare carpet, this model does have certain issues on carpets with low pile and struggles to suck up large pieces of debris as its dirt compartment fills up. But it's well built and has a long battery life, which you can extend by using the energy-efficient Eco mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible both with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can operate it by speaking. The app lets you identify your robot (mine is Sharky Shark), remotely activate and schedule its runs, and view your cleaning history as well as any errors that are notified. You can also create an outline of your house and manually define zones that are not allowed to enter.

The Shark iQ is more expensive than the iRobot Roomba j7+, however it comes with better mapping and app features and superior Revolutionize Cleaning with iRobot Roomba i3+ performance on all surfaces types. It also charges more quickly and gets stuck on rug tassels fewer frequently, which reduces its recurring costs. However, this model is unable to be kept away from areas that contain pet bowls or furniture, and you must use physical boundary strips to keep it from certain objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

With a sleek, premium design that complements your home decor, the Roomba 694 is an excellent robot vacuum for those who need an easy-to-use, set it and forget it device. It can recognize your cleaning habits and create a customized schedule. It also integrates with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants, so you can start a clean by just speaking. It uses a full suite of sensors to navigate the obstacles around your home. A smart bumper cushioned the impact when it crashes against furniture legs or walls. Four "cliff" sensors on the side and front inform it that it is nearing the edge of a dropoff, such as stairs or a balcon, and it's also able to reverse.

This model is a great option in the robot vacuums under $300 category. It comes with a three-stage cleaning system with dual multi-surface brushes to remove dirt from carpets and hard floors. Edge-sweeping tools take care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum has several features that make it convenient including Dirt Detect that spends more time on heavily soiled areas. It can also be manually triggered to clean at specific intervals, and also has an app that allows remote control.

The Roomba model from iRobot isn't as sophisticated but it is not as advanced as the i7. It does not include a mapping feature, nor the capability of creating virtual boundaries. It is, however, more durable and is less expensive than the more eufy RoboVac G30, has a much larger dustbin, charges more quickly, can maneuver around obstructions such as electrical cords better and is more effective on floors with no pile and carpet than the iRobot Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s Lightweight robot vacuum vacuum is a small but appealing machine that provides a excellent value for money. It sucks pet hair well and has a huge dirt compartment and can run for a long duration on a single charge. However, it's hard to maintain and has some issues with navigation. It does not have voice control or a companion app, but has a simple to use remote. It also doesn't send you a notice when the dust container is full, so you'll need to check it often.

The eufy is better than the Bobsweep Bob Pro in most ways however, it's not as good as the iRobot Roomba 694 in many other ways. The iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, comes with a HEPA filter, can last longer on a single charge, and provides better cleaning performance on bare floors and carpets with high and low piles. It also features a better navigation system that can navigate around obstacles, and has more advanced automation features, such as boundary stripes.

While the eufy is a decent choice I would suggest the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for the majority of users. The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is easier to maintain, more durable and has a bigger dustbin and performs better on all surfaces. It is also more efficient to recharge and has longer battery life.

The eufy can be superior to the ILIFE A4s, however it's not as efficient as a high-end robot like the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is better-built, has a larger dustbin, and incurs fewer ongoing costs. It also comes with more advanced automation feature, such as boundary stripes, and a navigation algorithm that is more sophisticated. The iRobot can also take care of pet hair more efficiently, and it's easier to maintain than the Eufy.
