Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

This is a good option if you are looking for a basic robotic cleaner without the advanced features of other models. It was great at picking up pet hair, Cheerios and kitty litter on hardwood floors.

It quickly maps rooms and provides solid obstacle avoidance. It can be operated manually via the included remote.

1. Roomba from iRobot

The s9+ robotic vacuum is the best we've ever tested to clean hard floors and carpets. It has the strongest suction of any robot cleaner on the market, and is a great choice for getting rid of pet hair. It can also be programmed to perform multiple passes or adjust the suction level based on the size of the room, a feature we haven't seen on other models. Its app lets you modify how it works and even choose when it starts working, so you can stay in the room while it's moving.

Smart mapping produces a comprehensive home map that can aid the S9+ to navigate efficiently and create routes. It is also self-emptying so you don't have to be around to assist. It is also able to recharge itself in mid-clean. The s9+ could navigate around obstacles like tables and power cables with any issue. It never lost its charge and did not get stuck. It doesn't have the hazard avoidance capabilities of newer models and can become entangled in rug tassels and other obstacles that it's not able to see.

The s9+ has a flat front, unlike most circular robots. It also has a squared-off front that allows it to reach corners more easily than models with rounded fronts. It's also quieter than our previous iRobot robot and more compact than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not expensive, but it's an excellent value for the price given the quality of its performance and the fact that you won't need to worry about emptying an unclean bin following the use. Plus, it's often on sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon Prime Day.

2. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The j7+ robotic vacuum is among the most intelligent vacuum cleaners on the market. It is equipped with iRobot Genius Technology, which lets it detect obstacles and move around them. This means that you do not have to worry about the robot hitting furniture or walls. It also slows down when it approaches an object, so that it can gently clean edges. This is particularly useful when you have pets who leave behind messes.

The j7+ can also mop and vacuum due to mopsitter. When it recognizes that you're on a surface that needs to be mopped it will switch to the normal cleaning mode and activates the robot arm with a pad attached. It mops the floor with an eerily-smooth motion that left my floors looking and feeling like they'd been properly cleaned.

After cleaning the j7+, it returns to its dock and recharges. It then drives back to where it started and begins cleaning. It usually runs for around 85 minutes, or more or less in my house, before having to return to the dock to recharge. This is less than the s9+, but it's still impressive for a machine that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

As with other iRobot cleaners, the j7+ detects obstacles in its way and is able to avoid them. It also has what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from taking a tumble down the stairs. It's an excellent security feature for families with children.

The j7+'s onboard bin is relatively small, so you will need to return it to the dock to empty it often in the event that your home is big. However, the j7+ is extremely easy to store. The included all-in one Clean Base acts as a charging dock as well as an external dustbin, and an internal bin in which the j7+ can deposit dirt.

3. Shark iQ

This sleek robot vacuum cleaner and sonic mop carpets and hard floors simultaneously. Matrix Clean Navigation is also included, which utilizes a grid matrix to cover the entire home. The vacuum empties itself after each run, and you can see its battery's life and condition by looking at a pair of lights above. To empty the dirt receptacle simply push a button that unlocks the bin. It can accommodate up to one week's worth of garbage and is easy to empty from anywhere in the home.

Despite its impressive performance on unfinished flooring, this model has certain issues on carpets with low pile and struggles to suck up heavy debris as the dirt compartment fills up. It is nevertheless well constructed and has a long battery life, which you can extend by using the energy-efficient Eco mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means you can control it with your voice. The app lets you name your robot (mine's Sharky Shark), program and remotely run its runs, check your cleaning history and receive error notifications. You can also create maps of your house and manually create zones that are not allowed to enter.

The Shark iQ costs more than the iRobot Roomba j7+ but it has superior app features and mapping and also superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges more quickly and is less frequently caught on tassels of rug which can lower the cost of recurring repairs. However, this model is unable to avoid areas that contain pet bowls or furniture, and you must use physical boundary strips to keep it away from certain objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

With an elegant, premium design that is a perfect match for your home's decor The Roomba 694 is a great robot vacuum for those looking for an easy-to-use set it and forget it device. It learns your cleaning habits to create a customized schedule, and works with Google Assistant or Alexa voice assistants to allow you to start cleaning with the sound of your voice. A full suite of sensors helps it maneuver the natural obtacles in your home while cleaning. A smart bumper cushioned the impact of bumps against furniture legs or walls. Four "cliff" sensors on the front and side alert it when it's nearing a dropoff, like the stairs or a balcony, and it's able to back away.

This model is an excellent choice in the robot vacuums under $300 category. It comes with a three-stage cleaning system and dual multi-surface brushes to help remove dirt from carpeted and hard floors, while an edge-sweeping brush will take care of edges and corners. This vacuum comes with many features for convenience including Dirt Detect which spends more time on areas with a lot of dirt. It can also be manually triggered to clean at certain intervals, and also has an app for remote control.

The Roomba 694 from irobot Roomba combo: vacuum and mop with navigation isn't as technologically advanced as the i7, which can self-empty its own dust bin and doesn't come with a mapping system, nor the capability to create virtual boundary markers. It is, however, more durable and is less expensive than the more eufy RoboVac G30, has a much larger dustbin, charges faster, and can navigate around obstacles like electrical cords with ease, and performs better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet as compared to the iRobot Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is a small but appealing machine that provides a good value for the price. It sucks pet hair well and has a large dirt compartment and can last for a long period on one charge. It's hard to maintain, and navigation is a problem. It lacks an app companion to it and voice control, however it does have a user-friendly remote. It doesn't let you know when the bin is full. You'll have to check it frequently.

The eufy is superior to the bObsweep Bob Pro in most ways however it's not as good as the iRobot Roomba 694 in a lot of others. The iRobot is built better, has less parts that require regular maintenance, features a HEPA filter and can last longer on a single charge, and offers better performance on floors that are bare and low- and high-pile carpet. It also has an improved navigation system that can navigate through obstacles, and includes advanced automation features like boundary stripes.

The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is an ideal choice for the majority of users, even although the eufy is a good option. The iRobot is better built, simpler to maintain, has a bigger dustbin, and provides better performance on all surface types. It is also faster to recharge and has longer battery life.

The eufy is better than the ILIFE A4s but not as good as high-end robots like the Roborock S7 maxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better, has a larger dustbin, and incurs fewer ongoing costs. It also has more advanced automation capability like boundary stripes and a navigation algorithm that is more intelligent. The irobot roomba sale can also take care of pet hair more efficiently, and it's much easier to maintain than the eufy.
